Welcome to chicago-sf.org, a website designed to provide a speculative fiction community for the Chicago area.

We began as a group on Meetup.com, and for a long time we were happy there. We grew under the auspices of our organizer, Barry, who you can see in our gallery. Many of us were regulars.

Then Meetup.com opted to charge organizers a steep fee for the comparatively unsophisticated organizing tools that they offer. Few believed we should continue with them. Many options were debated, and I have proffered this one, a complete website devoted to our community, and our expanded Chicago-land SF brethren.
